Meet Skylor Williams

Hello! I’m Skylor Williams, Realtor® with Berkshire Hathaway, Stouffer Realty in Cleveland, Ohio. I hope to make your acquaintance, and should you decide to become my client, I will do my absolute best to make sure all your real estate business goals are accomplished and housing needs are met.

I was born in the Greater Cleveland area in July 1975. My mother was a Filipino immigrant who became a waitress in downtown Cleveland, and eventually owned her own Chinese restaurant near Sacramento, California. My father is a retired carpenter for the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) who still lives on the west side of Cleveland. I am the only son between my parents, but I have 5 half-sisters, one of whom is Abbey Williams, a New York-based contemporary artist.

I grew up in Cleveland Heights in the Coventry-Mayfield neighborhood, and attended Coventry Elementary and Roxboro Middle School. I graduated from Hawken School in 1993. I graduated from Case Western Reserve University in August 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science. I consider myself versed in science and the scientific method. During my college career, I started out as a BS in Biochemistry major, but switched majors my senior year after deciding to go to law school. I am an alumnus member of Theta Chi Fraternity and Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity.

I was accepted to law school at University of the Pacific at McGeorge the summer of 2000, but then did not actually go for various reasons. I kicked around California for a year and fell into California politics where I worked on a city council campaign and helped with a union contract campaign. I then enlisted in the United States Army just before September 11th. After training, I was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, assigned to Headquarters, 1st Cavalry Division. I was the Pre-Trial Clerk for the Division, in charge of empaneling juries for courts-martial. Upon deploying to Baghdad, Iraq in March 2004, I was part of the military legal (JAG) team responsible for helping the Iraqi government rebuild their judicial infrastructure, as well as being a specialist advising our command on tenets of the International Law of War. I received two Army Commendation medals for my years of service and work on high-profile courts-martial.

After returning home and being Honorably Discharged from the Army, I settled in Austin, Texas. I was a US Army Reservist from 2006 until 2009 with the 1st Legal Support Organization at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. I had a hand in several groups in Texas politics, managed a State House campaign, advised a Congressional campaign, and helped form two PACs. I also earned a Masters degree in Community Counseling from Texas A&M University, and practiced as a counselor-intern from 2011 to 2016. I was married in 2005, but divorced in 2012 and have no children. I have also tried my hand at teaching high school math and science, having earned my Texas teacher’s license in 2013. I taught in the Copperas Cove, Marlin, KIPP Austin Charter, Priority Charter, and Bartlett school districts between 2013 and 2020.

I joined the real estate industry part-time in 2017, having been affiliated with top US brokerages. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I returned to Cleveland to be closer to my family. Earning my Ohio real estate license in 2020, I joined Berkshire Hathaway in February 2021. Giving up on teaching, and now practicing real estate full-time has made me feel more fulfilled, focused, and relaxed.

My specialties as a Realtor® include being a Buyer’s Agent for my investor clientele, promoting financial literacy, and helping people build wealth through real estate investments. Public schools are not in the business of teaching our students financial skills or setting them up for financial independence. I often educated my students with sayings like “The key to being rich is to have money you never, ever spend” or “Having a salary is what they’ll pay you to give up on your dreams.” I have helped numerous buyer and seller clients who want a traditional house transaction, but I have come to discover I enjoy helping build portfolios for investors all over the country, to provide affordable rental housing for Cleveland communities or to leave a legacy for their families.

I hereby invite you to join me on a journey. Please allow me to be your guide, whether is that is finding available investments opportunities or getting your forever dream home. I can understand why some people don’t like realtors; I have never been that kind of realtor. I’ve become a good negotiator and won concessions for my clients from other realtors. I promptly return phone calls and emails and will not leave you wondering what’s going on with your transaction. As a former counselor, confidentiality is sacrosanct, unless of course, it conflicts with the law. We can explore outside-the-box financing depending on the situation. I have a wealth of experience in many life areas which translate well into creativity and imagination necessary for the getting a deal closed. My personal commitment is to a fair, honest, expedient, equitable, and profitable deal for all parties concerned.
